Confirm a complete blink
Lumi looks for an open–close–open sequence across both eyes. One uncertain frame does not count as a blink.
ON-DEVICE BLINK DETECTION · MACOS, WINDOWS & LINUX
Lumi detects complete blinks on your computer. After a long gap, a small prompt asks you to blink slowly twice. Camera frames are processed in memory and discarded.
Distance-break and stand-up reminders are included and can be switched off separately.

HOW THE BLINK REMINDER WORKS
Blink sensing runs only while monitoring is active and the face signal is usable. You can pause it at any time, and locking or sleeping the computer releases the camera.

Every detected complete blink restarts the no-blink interval. The reminder appears only after that gap becomes prolonged.
Two detected blinks complete the prompt. Lumi then starts a cooldown so the reminder does not immediately return.
OTHER REMINDERS AND RECORDS
Blink, distance, and sedentary reminders have separate switches. A master monitoring switch and schedule control when camera sensing can run.
A small prompt asks for two slow blinks. Complete them to dismiss it, or turn the blink reminder off without changing the other features.
A calm 20-second horizon appears after 20 minutes of observed screen time. Skip it when needed, or use the free browser timer before installing.
Choose a sedentary interval from 1 to 600 minutes. Lumi distinguishes a completed stand-up movement from a brief tracking loss.
Explore blink, screen, posture, and yawn events by day. The timeline lives in IndexedDB on your computer and automatically drops records older than 30 days.

The American Optometric Association recommends looking at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds after every 20 minutes of screen use to help ease digital eye strain.

MediaPipe runs on your computer. Lumi saves small behavior events in a local timeline for 30 days. It does not save photos, video, face coordinates, or screen contents.
VISIBLE FEEDBACK
The small desktop companion mirrors detected blinks and shows reminder state without turning your activity into a score.
YOUR CONTROLS
Lumi does not assign streaks or health scores. You can hide the desktop companion, pause monitoring, or disable any reminder independently.
BEFORE YOU INSTALL
Lumi supports screen habits. It is not a medical device and cannot tell you why your eyes feel uncomfortable.
No. It can remind you to blink and take breaks, but it cannot diagnose dry eye disease, measure tear quality, or replace an eye examination. Read the dry eyes and screen use guide; persistent pain, redness, light sensitivity, discharge, or sudden vision change needs professional care.
No. Camera frames are processed in memory and discarded. The app does not capture screen content. Its local timeline stores small behavior events such as a detected blink or the start and end of an observed screen interval.
Blink and posture sensing pause, and the app explains that sensing is unavailable. It does not replace the missing signal with a hidden timer.
Yes. Blink, distance, and sedentary reminders have independent switches, plus a master monitoring switch and configurable monitoring windows.
