How to use this timer

  1. Press Start 20-minute cycle when you begin a screen session.
  2. Keep the tab open. Optional browser notifications can alert you when the distance break begins.
  3. During the 20-second break, look at a real object about 20 feet—or six metres—away.
  4. The next 20-minute interval begins automatically after the break.
Privacy note

This web timer does not use your camera and includes no analytics script. Its state is stored only in session storage for this browser tab.

Use observed screen time in the desktop app

The Lumi desktop app pauses its screen-time rhythm when the face signal is unavailable. Camera frames are processed locally and discarded immediately.

Read the guidance behind the timer

The 20-20-20 rule is general screen-break guidance, not a treatment or diagnostic test. Read the full 20-20-20 guide for sources, limitations, and situations that call for professional eye care.
